Primary School

Dundee, United Kingdom

The Insitex® Brecon profile was chosen to enhance a normally plain concrete structure.

The concrete elements form part of a primary school and nursery and will also form part of a three-tier shared campus that will also accommodate a new Academy which includes a secondary school.

Councillors approved the £27 million redevelopment of the Academy. The new two-storey building will house a two-stream primary school designed for 400 pupils and 70 full-time equivalent nursery places alongside a separate nursery area. Vehicles will be able to access the site with car parking spaces for more than 30 cars and drop-off points.

The Insitex® Brecon Profile was used in many of the external retaining wall structures. The liner was installed as per Max Frank Ltd’s instructions by pinning to a proprietary shuttering system. The photos show the wall 640mm thick and approximately 10m long and 4.5m high after the formwork was struck.

The pour rate of the concrete wall was 1.2m/h.
