The circular formwork of the St. Hedwig Cathedral in Berlin was constructed using Pecafil® permanent formwork.
The former rectory of Sankt Hedwig and residence of the Berlin bishops was closed in 2019 when the renovation and redesign of the cathedral began. In future, it will also serve as the residence and official residence of the Berlin bishops again. As a central measure, the altar will move to the centre, directly under the dome. The conversion work on the Berlin Cathedral is expected to continue until spring 2024.
The time and costs savings achieved by using the formwork material Pecafil® is favourable for the renovation of the cathedral in Berlin. The light weight, easy handling and short assembly time of the curved Pecafil® formwork are particularly advantageous when refurbishing existing structures.
The workers on the Berlin construction site used the formwork material from MAX FRANK for the first time and were impressed by the effortless assembly.
